What is the Process you use to make DVD's?

Why should I digitize my home movies?

VHS and camcorder tapes degrade with time, the magnetic tape could be left blank with the passing of the years. The videotape to DVD conversion process stops the degradation and preserves your movies in the mpeg2 format that is used in DVD and High Definition Video. In addition to the DVD, the digital video files on the disc will be valuable even when the DVD format itself has come and gone. The deterioration is stopped once the video transfer to DVD occurs and digital video is here to stay. The video files we place on your DVD are not encrypted so you can transfer them to future formats! For More Information please see Why Transfer?

What we offer with each transfer Option: Simple, Silver, Gold, and Platinum

We offer more than just a video to DVD transfer. During the each transfer process, we'll take out those annoying blue and static scenes that you get when you turn a video camera on and off. We will automatically insert chapter markers into your video. This way, when you're viewing the DVD you can quickly skip scenes without having to watch through the whole movie.

We also offer an amazing selection of Simple, Silver, Gold, and Platinum Transfers (see VHS to DVD). These transfers can offer amazing features such as:

How we offer such High Quality:

Many companies will say they are the best, but we explain how and why we are the best. Steed Preservations uses professional equipment, and we will even tell you the brand and model of equipment we use. Your VHS videocassette tape is run from our JVC SR-VS30U unit that will transfer the data from analog to a digital format. It is then captured on a Macintosh PowerMac G5 for authoring with Final Cut Pro HD 5 and DVD Studio Pro 4. These authoring programs are the top of the line industry standard. We can provide this information because not only is our equipment beyond the price range of the hobbyist, but also because we use processes (such as scene detection, online editing and color correction) that are what make us the best choice for VHS to DVD and Camcorder Tape to DVD conversions.
